Volgens Lenselink 1959, 339 komt de melodie uit de Frans-Straatburgse gezangboeken van 1548 en 1553 en is Utenhoves tekst een bekortende vertaling van Marots 12e psalm. Uitleg in de marge. Wijsaanduiding ELDERS in Utenhove 64Ps1561. Melodie niet in koraalbank.
