Melodie: Hollantsche Schouburgh VII (1721)

[31] The Spanish War
One may ask which Spanish War this piece is referring to. To the War of the Spanish Succession? Possibly, but more likely it refers to one bilateral part of this complex conflict: the war between the Netherlands and Spain. This did not end in 1713. Although on 11 April 1713 the most important agreements were signed in Utrecht, much more negotiation was necessary to end all of the War of the Spanish Succession. The Dutch Republic and Spain signed separately on 26 June 1714, also in Utrecht. Possibly during the celebrations people danced to the music of this merry bourr?e.

Melody: Hollantsche Schouburgh VII (1721)
