[32] Vreugden Lied op de Vreêde met Spanje
Dat de vrede die de Republiek en Spanje afzonderlijk in 1714 tekenden aanleiding gaf tot vreugde, blijkt uit het volgende lied. Er waren fakkels en vuurwerk. Eindelijk kunnen we weer handel drijven op Spanje, verzucht men. Dan kunnen we weer Spaanse wijn drinken en van vijgen, rozijnen en sinaasappels genieten.
Vreugden Lied, op het Teekenen van de Vreêde, tussen den Koning van Spanjen, en de Hoog Mog: Heeren Staaten Generael der Vereenigde Nederlanden; getekend tot Utrecht den 26. Juny 1714. waer op den 27. dito in 's Gravenhage groote Vreugden is bedreven.
Stem: Ik Vryden een Meysje teer.
Maekt nu vreugd aen alle kant,
Kom gy oude Batavieren,
Steekt piktonnen in den brand,
Laet nu de vuurwerken zwieren,
Dankt den Heer met veel ootmoed
t'Zamen voor het groote goed,
Dat hy nu ons Neerland doet.
Nu de lang gewenste Vree,
Weer met Spanjen is gesloten,
Tot blyschap van land en stee,
Ja tot vreugd van kleyn en grooten:
Koopman schept nu goede moed,
Laet uw schepen vol en soet
Nu uytvaren met 'er spoed.
Spaenze wynen goed van smaek,
Haeld die nu naer uw begeeren,
Waer mee sich den mensch vermaek;
U sal nu geen vyand deeren.
Ja ook vyge wonder schoon
En rozyne fraei ten toon,
d'Appel ciena spant de kroon.
Zeeman, weest nu heel verheugd,
Gy kond nu sonder bezwaren
En met een volkomen vreugd
Nu de gantsche zee bevaren;
Geeft de Heer uw goede wind,
Gy wel haest een have vind,
Daer gy inkomt als een vrind.
Dankt nu t'zaem den God van al
Voor de Vreêde ons gegeven,
Op dat wy in 't aerdze dal
Hier noch lang in vrede leven
Met het ryk van Spanje schoon,
Die tot Utrecht fraey ten toon
Is gesloten met die kroon.

| [32] Song of Celebration on the Peace with Spain
This song affirms that the peace agreement between the Republic and Spain in 1714 was another cause for celebration, including torches and fireworks. Finally we can do business in Spain again, says the song, and buy Spanish wine, figs, raisins, and oranges.
Song of Celebration on the Signing of the Peace between the King of Spain and the High and Mighty Lords of the States-General of the United Netherlands, signed in Utrecht on the 26th of June 1714, and celebrated on the 27th in The Hague.
Celebrate all around,
Come you old Batavians,
Set cressets alight,
Let the fireworks whirl,
Thank the Lord together with great humility,
For this wonderful boon
That he now grants the Netherlands.
The long-awaited Peace
Is concluded with Spain,
To the joy of city and countryside,
Yes, both young and old rejoice.
Merchant, be of good cheer
Let your ships nice and full
Sail out with all speed.
Delicious Spanish wines,
Which are a pleasure for mankind,
Buy them up now as much as you want,
