op p86: 'Naer dat ... so wert op dit tanneel terstont ghehoort eenen excellenten sanck, met diversche stemmen wel soo harmonieus al oft Phartenope, Lugia en Lencasta daer jegenwoordich hadden gheweest. Den teneur van het liedeken dat sy songhen, volght hier naer, t'welck tot love vanden incomende Prince ghecomponeert was.'
Volgens Van Duyse II, 1636 'lijdt [het] geen twijfel of dit stuk is op de Wilhelmus-melodie gedicht, juist om die reden schijnt het een naklank van 't Wilhelmus zelf, ofschoon het de verhevenheid van dit laatste mist'. Van Duyse zet het stukje tekst dat hij weergeeft dan ook in 8-regelige in plaats van in 4-regelige strofen.
